"Are You Stuck Between A Rock and A Hard Place?" (videos by Charles Spurgeon, Hymns, - Inspirational Weekend

Hello friends.  For some reason my computer is not able now to allow me to download my photographs.  I believe I will be able to share uplifting Christian videos, however.

Everyone has heard the expression "Between a rock and a hard place."  I looked up the origin of that saying recently.  It originally came about in the early 1900's in America over a dispute between copper miners and the companies they worked for.  Their working conditions were not good, and the miners demanded better working conditions, which the companies refused to do.  The miners were forced to chose between unemployment  and poverty (a "hard" place), or remain in the same terrible conditions (a "rock") ,

The phrase was also popular during the great depression of the 1930's.  In other words, "between a rock and a hard place" means that your dilemma only offers a choice between two unpleasant alternatives.

But the "Rock" that is referred to in this article is the Savior, Jesus Christ. In Scriptures, Jesus is referred to as a rock. To choose Him is the most wonderful thing that could happen to you !  He, as the Savior, can wash your sins away and make you clean in God's eyes and give you forgiveness which leads to eternal life!

A literal rock is firm and has stability.  The same applies to Jesus.  You can trust Him and God with your trials.  He will make a way. God and Jesus keep their promises !

In the following 4 minute daily devotional by In Touch ministries, the Rock is mentioned:

When difficulties and trials prevail in one's life, and everything seems to be against you, you must have faith in the good Lord, and you must move forward, without doubting God/Jesus.

"Pain insists upon being attended to.  God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences,  but shouts in our pains.  It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."  -  C. S. Lewis

Don Moen explains the above quote by telling us, "God is calling us to awaken us FROM something! He is calling us to awaken us  FOR something; and He is calling us TO something.  He wants to awaken us from apathy; to embrace us and show us His love."

In today's world of chaos and uncertainty, God has awakened many persons; many have turned to Jesus in faith since this coronavirus and the recent violent riots.  Only the good Lord has the answers to  what lies ahead, and  - if you believe in Jesus as the Savior - you will be guaranteed a life in glory with Him for all eternity !

Jesus is all we need - for now and eternity!

Here is an old hymn you will recognize...."On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand":

And another,  "Rock of Ages":

How encouraging are the above two hymns!  And the lyrics are based on the Scriptures.

There are many people that are scoffers of religion today, especially concerning the soon Rapture of the Church.  Pray for them, and for your lost family members as well.  Time is running out!

It is obvious that we are now experiencing the beginnings of events that will come to full fruition during the soon 7 year Tribulation. The New World Order is alive now;  just look at the convergence of events all at once now that the Bible prophesied would happen.  Read Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 for these signs of the "season" of Jesus' return.

Below is a wonderful 41 minute sermon on audio video by Charles Spurgeon titled "Christ The Rock".

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." -  1 John 2:15-17

Have a  blessed and Christ centered weekend - and life !!
