Fall Foliage

Michigan Horses

Today I completed an oil landscape painting with Fall foliage and it made me think of  posting some Autumn  photographs to this blog.   It has been a while since I posted here, and I promise not to let that happen again.   I have been very busy painting and have not gone on any photo shoots lately.  Believe me, I desperately want to take off to the country or the ocean to take photos very soon.   I have missed that.

Below are some more Fall scenes for you to enjoy.

A barn in Michigan with just the beginning stages of Fall foliage.   I believe those are mums blooming in front of the fence.  Below are some photos taken at the Washington Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in Seattle.

The picture below was also taken at the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle.   It is the reference photograph for the painting I completed today, which is also shown below.

"Autumn Of Our Life - Ecclesiastes 9:9"
12" x 16" oil on panel

I changed things a little in the painting.... wonderful thing, artistic license !  You may view the blog post about this artwork here

Looking forward to sharing many more posts with you in the coming year.   Have a wonderful New Year !

Residents Of Waikiki (Waterfowl and Koi)

"O Lord, what a variety of things You have made!  In wisdom You have made them all.  The earth is full of Your creatures."  Psalm 104:24

Drake Wood Ducks

White-faced Whistling Duck

Black-Necked Swan

Lesser Flamingos

Hungry Koi

These photographs were taken at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki and are a sampling of some of the non-human residents there.   I go there as often as I can to just enjoy them and take new photos.  Below is a view of Diamondhead, an extinct volcano, as seen from the beach at the Hilton.

This will be a good reference photo for a new painting.   I hope you enjoyed your visit here today and please  return again soon.

A Sampling of More to Come

This shot was taken in a suburb of Salt Lake City a few years ago.   I recently completed an oil painting of these Iris shown on my fine art blog  http://reynoldsrenditions.blogspot.com    I really have taken a fancy to this flower and wish they were suited to the climate in Hawaii.

The above two scenes were taken at Waikiki on the Island of Oahu.   I intend to use them as references for paintings in the future.   Just wanted to share them with you; however, this blog will mostly focus on landscapes without man-made structures, as well as nature photos of plants and animals.....any and everything that inspires me and that I believe you would enjoy as well.

The two ocean photos were taken at Makapuu beach on Oahu.  Those two small islands in the background of the one photo are protected bird sanctuaries.   The plumeria blossoms were also in that area.  Plumeria trees are found almost everywhere in the Hawaiian Islands and come in a variety of colors: white, pink, red, and a rainbow plumeria with multiple colors in the flower.  I will definitely post more of these flowers in the future.   Here is one more right now :

God was generous with beauty in His wonderful creation !  It is that beauty that inspires me to paint and to constantly try to do it justice with my photography.

This is just a sampling of what this blog is all about.  I hope you enjoyed your visit !
